Thanks for the kind words. I'd like to add the search feature but the problem is that Jaiku has a very poor API. There is unfortunately no way for me to provide that feature. I am working on various UI enhancements and plan to add support for GPS when updating your status. But until they upgrade their API (which I hope will be soon) I'm left with only the most basic features. Comments are another example where the API falls short. That is why I have to link out to a browser to let you comment.
Nothing that hasn't already been posted before I'm sure. But I'd want a commenting API, searching API, add/block/remove friend API, account pref API (e.x. turn SMS on/off), Reverse-GEO coding API, some ability to get as many previous posts as desired, and most importantly, a better authentication scheme that doesn't require a user to remember such a long key.
That sounds great ... how will the deployment work with it being open sourced? Assuming you had commit rights on the codebase and fixed / added a feature ... how would it get deployed? Is Google still planning to host it?
There's going to be an open source project called Jaiku Engine up on Google Code. There's going to be an instance of that code running on jaiku.com on AppEngine.
@termie, @jyri and @tangles are the people who will be sorting out what happens with regard to what gets deployed and when it gets deployed.
Jaiku.com is going to be hosted on Google AppEngine so that should effectively get us a larger team of people looking after machines and infrastructure 24/7/365.
Ever since jaiku went open source I can't get my mjaiku app to login to my jaiku account. Has the move messed up mjaiku? Which API key should I put in place to attach to my account. Thanks.
Please update! And if any other iPhone users here have mJaiku, please post. Perhaps he just needs to see whether or not it's worth his time to update the app... I know I only paid $0.99 for it, but I still paid for it, so I would expect some support here.

Hey Rodney,
Since I can not find your email address, I wanted to let you know that your iPhone app was recently reviewed over at the Blog Herald.

NOTE: When I say a commenting API, I am talking about the ability to post a comment ... there is technically already a way to view comments.

@raiglstorfer Now that Jaiku's going open source we'll be able to add them as issues to the Google Code project

I actually asked because I wanted to buy it

I haven't bought it, but now I've seen the review I'm tempted. First though I'd like to see some stability in Jaiku
